“June 24th 1963. Dr. Kenneth Clark conducts probing interviews of the National Representative of The Nation of Islam, The Honorable Malcolm X, SCLC leader Martin Luther & Playwright James Baldwin in the hour long special examining the racial crisis in America. Dr. Clark and his wife fellow psychologist Mamie Phipps Clark, used dolls in their 1939 psychological experiment to gauge ego and self esteem in young Black American children. Black children identified with the Black dolls, but children of either race tended to view the White dolls favorably and the Black dolls unfavorably. The study concluded the Black American children internalize society’s negative stereotypes of Black Americans, Dr.Clark: “Two out of three African American children rejected the brown dolls.” Clark’s results were published in a 1950 paper, “Effects of Prejudice and Discrimination on Personality Development.” The Clarks paper on the “doll tests” was cited by the US Supreme Court in its landmark 1954 ruling, Brown v. Board of Education.”

The only two issues I have with Malcolm X:
was his lack of respect for Dr. Martin L. King. He basically saw him as a servant for what he called “white-devils”, which of course Dr. King wasn’t.
My other issue with Malcolm had to do with his own racism at least in his early days towards the broader Caucasian race seeing Caucasian-Americans in general as racists at least early on. And had Malcolm X lived longer I believe he would’ve seen he was wrong. That without Caucasian-Americans not the racists, the civil rights laws of the 1960s never get passed. And African-Americans today would not have their constitutional rights enforced under law today.
Malcolm X went from someone in the late 1950s and early 1960s as someone who believe that Caucasians, especially Caucasian men were racists and were devils. “The White man is a devil”, according to Malcolm X back then. Who believe that African-Americans and Caucasian-Americans shouldn’t live and work together in the same communities. That the races in America should be separated. To by 1964-65 after seeing Mecca in Saudi Arabia and spending time with non-African and Arab Muslims including European Muslims and perhaps talking to Caucasians back in America believe that not all Caucasians are devils.
